HAPPY 33rd BIRTHDAY

BRIDGET

I met Bridget 5 years ago. Her husband Jim was three years ahead of Doug in Orthopedics. Which seems like eternity in residency. I met her through Steph (the one Angie and I visited) this past summer. Bridget has been geniune since the day I have met her. Some fun things about Bridget is she loves to read. I have been known to call her at the library when trying to choose a book. I have never met a person more loyal to a team than her. They are Nebraskan Huskies through and through! Nothing bleeds more red than their family. She has never forgotten my birthday and I have been known to space hers. So that goes to show you what kind of friend she is. She is a great mom and very patient. Her kids are darling. She puts up hanging around us mormon gals better than anyone I know, even though she has always the odd man out. I was sad when they finally finished up their residency and fellowship. They have been gone for over a year, but she still manages to call at least once a week to check in. Luckily, they still have some family here so I can only hope they will come and visit. She often tagged with Angie and I to Chuy's for a good burrito. So Bridget, if you were here we could take you on Tuesday, so know we are thinking of you! I found a few photos of us which I think were my birthday celebrations.

I love that I am wearing the same shirt two different years in two photos. I think Angie & Bridget were both pregnant in the photo above. This was our fairwell Chuy's lunch for Steph in 2004.

Jenny's Birthday lunch 2005

I miss hanging out with our ortho gang and now we are down to two...(us and Gordon's) I look forward to academy meetings and other events to reunite our SA group again. It's not too often you find 4-husbands and 4-wives that all get along so well.

Bridget I hope you have a great day. And know that you are being thought of today. You can click here to give her birthday wishes. Happy Birthday B! Miss you tons!!

*good deed: put the kids to bed without asking for Doug's help so he could watch his 24 uninterupted....umm doesn't this earn extra wife points?

You are way too sweet! Seeing all of those pictures made me think of all of the fun we all had together. I miss you all tons! I think the friends you meet in residency are extra special because you are going through a time in your life that not many other people can understand.

Don't worry about the shirt. I mean, what is up with my hair and those bangs. Why didn't someone pull me aside and have a talk with me? :)

You are such a thoughtful friend! I love ya!!

Here is the copycat recipe for Chuy's creamy jalapeno dip:

Blend together a 16oz. container of dour cream with one packet of Hidden Valley Ranch dip mix powder, a handful of cilantro, and 3/4 cup pickeled jalapeno slices. Mix in blender and then chill for a couple of hours.

It's not the exact same, but it is a pretty close substitute, especially for those of us who don't live close to Chuy's anymore.

Nothing like having things in common to cement friendships. Seems like your ortho gang was/is tight and meaningful. I agree that those friendships are essential during these education years. Happy Birthday Bridget!

P.S. Don't you watch 24??????? the first episodes are critical!

The first picture at Chuy's is the one with the big boobs. I hate those things!!

Happy birthday Bridget!

Jenny- I think you need to work Chuy's into your blog name. You really should make money off the advertising you give them. I wish we had one here.

Jenny, you've sure made some great friendships over all the years of med school and residency. I think that's so cool. You definitely can't watch 24 with any interruptions so I think it's great you let Doug watch it!

One of the things I really envy about you medical school gals is the freindships you form with each other. The thing I don't envy is that you all have to move away from each other. I couldn't stand it. Everytime you say something about the Gordons moving, I get a little panicy for you. It's so sad! Good thing we have blogs, email, phones, cell phones, and good mail. Staying in touch is very easy!
