Fresh Slate

Welcome 2011

Ahh, yes it's refreshing to start with a clean slate for the New Year. It entails writing out new goals, or a list of what you "wish" to accomplish (if you will). I am not normally an over achiever in this department, I think that is obvious based on my last post of a month ago. Ooops! Where has time gone? I have been living life to it's fullest. Yes, my kids are growing up, saying funny things, causing me to pull some hair out (no gray yet...) and other days they leave me scratching my head. Each day brings on new challenges, but that is something we all expect right? I am very happy in the "season" I am in. Life is good.

So much has transpired over the past few weeks, I fear if I write each event down to the detail I may miss or leave something out. Nevermind it may bore you AND myself to tears. Other than, not enjoying our cooler temperatures, I have seen a few stunning sunsets. I miss the 85 degree weather as I sit here with a portable heater by my side.

The beginning of December soccer ended and both boys teams were undefeated. Taylor seemed to enjoy her team (other than they lost more than she would have liked) Once football ended Jared had the opportunity to play a month on a recreational basketball league before starting the regular season.

Weston was unstoppable (literally)

Luke is finally becoming comfortable and more assertive in his game.

As you can imagine, free Friday night and Saturday mornings were welcomed with open arms (at least for the sports).

Before the holidays engulfed all of us, I held a small luncheon at my house, sans children.

We went on a hay ride with the Varvel's and the kids rode a pony for FHE. Don't mind the black area, Luke is very into jumping into the camera these days.

We delivered creamy jalapeno and tortillas to friends and neighbors. I think my kids had more fun taking self portraits, instead of delivering.

Believe it or not I took nearly 3.5 weeks of running off (due to surgery), but did enjoy watching my kids run their annual snowflake sprint at school. It melted my heart to see that Jared ran in with Luke. Following shortly behind was Weston.

A few of us helped decorate our dear friend Tiffany's daughter, Hannah's wedding. This took place on the 22nd. We were working on center pieces. I think it turned out to be more of a party! The final result really turned out absolutely stunning. Sorry no documentations of the actual setting (I'll have to steal some from her site when she posts them).

I made the mistake or should I say we braving the mall on December 23rd. This was all done so our kids could buy and exchange gifts. Don't get me wrong they had fun, but trying to get Luke out of this chair was another story. Dang those gadget stores anyhow!

Doug and I marked our 15th wedding anniversary this past month and truthfully, each year has gotten better and better. That may want to make some of you vomit, however it really is the honest truth. Doug really is the bright spot in my day (whether he knows it or not).

Christmas Eve was celebrated with the annual delicious dinner and a nativity program provided by all the grandkids. We then broke off to visit my family for a gift exchange.

Clouse Christmas Program, trying to get a photo was next to impossible.

Did I mention Luke's new thing is jumping in front of the camera?
After heading home the kids opened their new pjs and it was off to sleep...

I always find morning photos to be very frightening, but it is a memory.....We had a very low key Christmas. Nice and relaxing after opening presents at 6am we went to the Clouse's for a fabulous breakfast.

We tagged along with the Varvel's to ring in the New Year with some of their friends (The Larsen's. It was a night of games, food, and fun. I know my husband was a titch skeptical going to meet new people, and for the record us Zonie's were colder than Chicago and New York City that night. BRRRRR!! Did I mention Weston fell into their pool? Good times.

Happy New Year!
Hopefully, I will update before Easter, but no promises.
