Seven Peaks
Provo, UT
This was one of our most adventurous summers thus far. I wasn't too sure about being away from home for a full three weeks, but it proved to be one of the best things we have done. I registered Taylor way back in November for EFY. We attempted to do it with friends, but it never panned out so she ended up going alone not knowing anyone. She had an absolute blast and walked away spirtually uplifted and met a ton of friends (which I knew she would the minute she arrived). While Taylor was at BYU for the week me and the boys crashed in on the Matern's for a week of play in Salt Lake. Before heading north we met up with our neighbors from AZ at Seven Peaks for a full day in the sun.

The first day the kids enjoyed running around outside and soaking up the oh so lovely 80 degree weather. It was seriously heaven! The Matern's ward had a special viewing of the Joseph Smith movie. The kids weren't so sure at first, but I think they all really liked it.

The next day we headed on up to the Bountiful country club.

Every Wednesday is lake day for Matern family, and anytime someone says lake the Clouse's are there! Unfortunately, Doug missed out on this trip.

but that didn't stop these boys from"boat jumping"

Allison and I ventured out to the new Bounce place in Draper...
where the kids jumped their hearts out for an hour!
Doug flew into town Friday just in time to pick up Taylor early Saturday morning.
First stop Krispy Kreme....I think it was the longest wait I have ever had for a box of donuts. Gotta love Provo!
Doug had to give the boys a tour of the BYU campus. And of course walk every single stair.
One thing I don't miss are ALL of those stairs getting to class.
Then on to Park City (aka Disneyland for the day) I couldn't believe how expensive it was to get a ride pass for the day there! We met back up with the Hunter's.

Taylor, Doug and I did the zipline. I was literally freaking out at how high we were and was about ready to back out, but I did it and it wasn't too bad.....
Taylor wasn't overly excited either, can you tell? This guy was awesome and coached her through and even had a cool Austrailan accent.

After a day in Park City we headed back down to the Matern's and went out to Red Iguana. Yummo!
Sunday we headed on down to St. George to the Hunter pad for the 4th of July!!
We hiked to some pools of water and the kids enjoyed jumping off the rocks.
Next was Taylor.....
and man was it hot. The boys decided to be creative to cool themselves.

The guys enjoyed the evening by far the best. I think they spent a few hours picking out fireworks. But, they did put on a pretty entertaining show!

Happy 4th of July!!
Tuesday morning we were on the road once again, driving through Vegas stopped at great outlets in Primm for school clothes and the highlight of our trip....worlds largest thermometer!
Our last destination....our favorite Carlsbad Inn in California. Doug had a conference in San Diego. So I hung with the kids at the beach in the morning and he joined us in the afternoon.
I got tickets for our family to see the musical Shrek.
Dinner downtown San Diego and then off to the play.

Who knew there were so many spellings of BBQ?
I still think Rudy's is better, but I will take a 6 hour trip over a 14 hour one for BBQ.

I had to document EVERY day we headed over to 7-11 for drinks and treats.
Probably not the safest way to get there....
We love 7-11!
I would like to do this one year.....however the ocean temperatures would be freezing!

to spreading your arms like a bird and he even attempted throwing knifes at him. Funny kid!
Our weather was gorgeous all week. It cleared out by 7am everyday.
This was one of our last nights on the beach. Such a great vacation!!
