I feel very fortunate to have pretty good kids. They of course have their moments at times, but what kid doesn't? Each of them have their strong and weak points. However, for the past year or so Taylor has been on a roll of good behavior. (not that she was bad before) I am not sure what triggered it, but I can honestly say that Taylor helps me beyond measure, especially when Doug isn't around. This morning was really not any different than any other day, I have just decided to document it.
-She sets her alarm for 6:10am. I never have to wake her.
-She makes her bed
-Lets the dog out of his crate and feeds him.
-Helps the boys get dressed and ties Jared's shoes (he can't seem to tie them tight enough)
-As I do the morning chores before getting into the car, she buckles up the little boys and often honks so I hurry and come out to the car. (I think she would drive if she could!) This is all before 7am. On top of her help she manages to juggle this as well.....

Are you tired yet? I am by writing it. I know people think I am a bit crazy for not really giving my kids "chores" around my house. Growing up I never really had any responsibilities, but found that I would do things on my own such as ironing, or mowing the lawn. I know each child is different (and I can already tell Jared will be). I would have to say that Taylor is a mother's dream and to think that I shed even one tear when I found out she was a girl on my ultrasound! Shame on me! Obviously He knows me better than myself. I feel so proud to have an amazing daughter and to top it off she is fabulous at multitasking! I think that is why she is capable of doing so much and continues to do so well in school. I also think this is why I have a difficult time telling her "no" when she wants to try something new. My theory is, if she can handle it, then why not? Not only are your dad and I lucky to have you, but you are a great big sister to your brothers. I just want to say I am extremely proud of you sweet Taylor and love you tons!!! Oh, and did I add that the reason Weston is potty trained is because of Taylor?
good deed: mailed a "just because" package

-She wanted pancakes, which I offered to make, but..... she took it upon herself and made pancakes start to finish AND cut up three other plates for the boys.

Can Taylor come potty train Evie? Seriously! Evie is totally back in diapers. Double blech!
I think Taylor needs to come train Lexi for a little bit. I get so frustrated teaching her to cook and things like that. Love and Logic to the rescue. You'll have to look into it more when youmove home.
Taylor is so grown up and responsible. I love it.
You really are lucky!
I need a Taylor! Sounds like a great daughter and I'm sure she appreciates your attention and praise.
I think that we could all use a little Taylor in our home. What a sweetie! She's just like her mamma! She can do it all!
What a sweet post for Taylor! Kathryn is a big helper (not this big yet) and sometimes I find myself forgetting to acknowledge it. Thanks for the reminder!
I am so happy that you've got such a great daughter in Taylor! She does sound a mother's dream! This post will really mean alot to her someday, to know how much she does on her own and for you and the whole family!
Taylor can have her pick between my boys um in about 10 years hahaha
She is amazing! You are lucky to have such a wonderful daughter.
OH what a great daughter you have!!!!
How sweet she sounds and what a great idea to do a post about her!
what a darling post of your daughter. it is amazing what help most of the time eldest daugters do.
So sweet! She sounds fantastic. My Brynlee has also kind of hit a great stride of being helpful in the past year -- maybe it's the age. I love it!
I so loved this. What an amazing girl. And she's so cute to boot!
What a lovely post Jenny! Taylor sounds like a dream daughter - but aren't they all really! I know my girls would so love her. Thanks for sharing!
Wow! Tay does do a lot for a 10 year old. I think the oldest always does more than the rest of the kids, but just think, she learned all of it from you. She is a natural born mother. Hopefully I will get to borrow her from time to time to babysit our kids (when we have them someday!) because I am sure she will be highly requested!
Love her! Hope you guys have a good night:)
Oh you give me hope. I can remember when Taylor would throw tantrums so loud I could hear them next door. Now I have the tantrum child and just hope it will pass and she will be as helpful and wonderful as Taylor.
How adorable! I love having my daughter first too - they do everything for you! I worry as I'm right smack dab in the middle of the tween years but it's all good.
Hope you're having a great week!
You have a wonderful daughter! I am so impressed at all she does! You are so blessed.
I am amazed you were describing a 10 year old. She sounds like a wonderful daughter. I could sure use a "Taylor" in the near future. Brooklyn is my shadow( I mean big helper) lets hope she still really likes me in a few years and wants to help out:)
Taylor is one amazing 10 year old. I love to watch her with Weston. She is for sure like a mini mom to him.
I often feel guilty that I have Mackenzi in toomany things and feel she is spread to thin, but always wants to add another activity to her many just like Taylor.
What a lovely post! Can you imagine her reading that later in life and being reminded how much her Mama adores her? Thanks for inviting me to your blog.
What a wonderful daugher...I have one too! Reilly is a little mom to my other kids, she cooks, she cleans, she bathes the little guys...aren't we lucky to have such great daughters? ;)

Wow it would have been helpful to have my girl first...then the three boys! Dang it!
What a lovely little girl, but you know it doesn't just happen. You're a big part of her wonderfulness!
