This week has been literally a whirlwind. Normally it is pretty crazy coming into town for various reasons. (since we only do it three times a year) Just making rounds with our family takes a ton of time in of itself. Add that to looking for housing, Thanksgiving, Christmas shopping and the week is sadly over. We have had such a great time and especially thanks to family Doug and I were able to get a lot accomplished without kids. I actually wanted to hook up with friends, but that just didn't happen. Without going into a ton of details I decided to document via photos.
Housing, housing and more housing. These are the homes that we liked, unfortunately, still a bit pricey and much to far than I would prefer to live. All of the new builds seem to be out in the boon docks! We also decided we would rather build when we are living here. I can't imagine having to do that long distance. Much TOO stressful. I did find a fridge I like. (below)It's a start right?
Doug officially has a "real job" lined up starting in August with Dr. Hardison. The light is coming closer and closer each day. We feel blessed to have found a practice and such a great staff of people. Ironically Randy graduated from the same residency program as Doug and no, he doesn't normally dress like this it was his afternoon off.
While we were "trotting" my in-laws were slaving over the Thanksgiving feast. Coming to the Clouse's you never leave disappointed. The food was fabulous! The photo doesn't give it justice.
As if it wasn't enough to run a 10K and eat until we were stuffed we decided to cram one more thing into our Thursday agenda. Doug's brother Dean got tickets to the ASU game. (It also happened to be Kathy's b-day) I am afraid we were the jinx being there (since they lost terribly to USC), but it was still a fun to attend. Go Devils!
Today was spent power shopping for Christmas. I am happy to report we are finished with our kids and family members. That is a HUGE relief. Tonight we headed over to dinner with my dad Susanne and grandparents then on to Doug's sister Debbie's house. Her tree has always been a favorite of mine, isn't it stunning? I guess that is why she has this store. She is super talented and has agreed to help me decorate our house (if we find one). I say this every time, but it's hard to believe that this week is already over. Tomorrow we are off to say our goodbye's and try and fit all of our stuff in along with our Christmas gifts. Wish me luck!!
good deed: brought Kathy flowers for her b-day.
good deed: finished my Christmas shopping.

congrats on getting your new job! It is such an incredible feeling to sign that dotted line after the LONG HAUL!!!!! David and I are so happy for the two of you!
Such a wonderful post! I'm glad to hear that your Thanksgiving was so nice. The food does look so good! Good job on your run! I would have loved to have done that..I bet it feels so good to have everything lined up, such exciting times!!!
I wish there would have been more time to meet up with you...but knowing that you will soon live in AZ is great! We will for sure get together next time :)
I was shopping Friday afternoon and ran into fellow blogger Michelle and her daughter Sara at a boutique. It was so fun running into them!!
We leave back home this evening...where did the time go??? this trip was too fast..
Nice that you got all your shopping done!!!

Michelle took me to bella over spring break.
I hope to be flying to Az in the next few months, I will have to do more fun shopping there :)
What a fun trip!! You definitely do have alot of exciting things coming up. I'm glad that your move will bring you closer to family. It is so worth it!! Good luck house hunting. I'm glad your Thanksgiving was wonderful.
Jenny, I'm glad you've had such a fun week. Congrats on trimming 5 minutes off your time and getting everything else done, too.
Calvin was sooo disappointed in ASU's game. He'd have loved to see it live. Glad you got to go.
What a fun week.
I love that fridge.... I hope you get it!
I did tons of shopping yesterday too. Good times. I don't feel stressed at all this year, we are keeping it pretty low key.
WOW!! Busy girl you are :o) I hope you had a fabulous week!!
CRAZY visiting the fam! That is MY fridge and I LOVE it!!! The only complaint FYI is that you have to be careful that it shuts completely - the kids are always just slamming the door and it doesn't always "connect" when it's slammed - I've had more than one occasion of finding the fridge cracked and my food not cold - YUCK - but I wouldn't trade it in. You will find a house - PROMISE. Steve thought he was the jinx for the USC/ASU game - so I let him know it was you...I will give you a call this week :)!
What a great Thanksgiving. You really fit a lot into one week. I'm jealous that you're finished with your Christmas shopping. I've barely begun.
Hope you have a safe and uneventful drive home.
Sounds like a great trip! Congrats on everything - Doug's new job (way to go!), your race (great job!), surviving all the many hours on the road - all of it. So happy for you!
What a week! I agree with you on building once you are in town. I think it would be a pretty big nightmare doing it long distance. They were finishing ours while we were in PA and it as not fun trying to communicate/coordinate.
I am so happy that Doug found a practice that he loves. So fun to be almost done!
Wow, so much in one week! If I had to pick one thing to comment on, it would be CONGRATS to Doug and you for him finding a practice! Whew! What a huge burden lifted!!
And yes that house of Debbie's is decorated very nicely!! :)
Looks like you had a fun-filled trip! It's great being able to spend holidays w/ family!
Hope you had a enjoyable drive back.
Way to go on the run!
Congrats Doug! Doesn't it feel great to "officially" have a job.
You will LOVE having a basement. I so missed that in SA. '
I will call Monday.
Jenny sounds like fun. I am jealous that you guys have light. My light still seems so far. Sounds like you had a great time. Excited for you to come back
mmmmm....pazookies!
wow that tree is beautiful. I love the fridge too...we stayed in chandler one time when we went to a family reunion everything looks new and kind of like california...wow how fun. your tble full of goodies...is tempting...I am a bit hungry....right about now.
I hope you find a house soon! The one in the pictures is very pretty. How funny, I have that same fridge!
What a great recap! I hope you are recovering well from your return home. It looks very exciting to be home shopping!
I love that fridge. We looked at it but Jason wouldn't consider it because they didn't offer it with a place to get the water and ice on the outside. About a week after we bought our fridge they came out with it! I hope you get it.
GLad you had a great thanksgiving and made it home safe!
