Mile Markers

As I said in my previous post we decided to leave Friday evening after Doug got home from work. I managed to pack up the car so that Doug was the only one who had to throw in some last minute items. We headed out around 7:30pm and drove and drove AND drove. I purposely pumped my system with caffeine so I could drive as long as I could. Surprisingly, I made it to nearly 2 am. The last hour was the hardest. I found myself playing mile maker games with my self and air drumming to songs on my ipod (I am sure it was a sight) to stay awake. We had intentions on stopping in El Paso to sleep, but 3 of the hotel offices were dark so we kept on driving. Doug took over for a while and then pulled off the side of a gas station to get a power nap. He was still feeling crappy. I am beginning to think the flu is never going to end! I noticed that Weston was feeling a little warm and have concluded that we have another sick flu member in our family. We arrived in town a little before 9am. It was definitely rough being up all night traveling, but on the flip side the kids slept the entire way making it worth it.

Mom and Dad C. have been treating us like royalty since we have arrived. We basically lounged around all day yesterday, took a much needed nap (I am still seeing mile markers in my head), ran to the store to stock up our mini pharmacy and had a delicious barbecue chicken dinner. We are now pretty much settled for our upcoming crazy week. Monday and Tuesday is house hunting. Wednesday we are trying to make an early temple session and Easter pageant later that night. We just found out our niece is one of the 10 virgins in it. Not sure what Thursday entails, but Friday we are heading to a Padres spring training game. The bummer part is I just realized that I forgot my pillows (aka my blanket) and my cord to upload photos to the computer. I told Doug I may be making a trip to Best Buy for a cord. He thinks I am nuts and said it can wait a week (I beg to differ) So hopefully I will be posting pictures soon. Tonight we are having a birthday celebration for my St. Patty's day baby. I am hoping to check back soon....Oh, and I forgot I just got 6 months of my blog printed. So cool!! I am now loving blurb.com.

blessing: arriving to AZ safely.

I'm so glad you arrived safely! I am strangely so excited for you to go house hunting. I can't wait to hear what you decide. I totally recognize the picture you posted of the house below. Looks like a great house online from what I remember. I hope you find something you love. It would just be so nice to have that to look forward to during the moving process.

Enjoy your Arizona time! I hope the sickies recover fast, and that nobody else succumbs!

I'm glad you guys made it safely. That's amazing that you could drive all night. I would've fallen asleep for sure, I can barely go on a one hour trip without falling asleep.

Good luck with the right house and hope everyone is feeling better soon.

Ugh, what a trip Jenny! This is so exciting to be able to go house hunting! You must be really excited! My girls have never been good car sleepers, except for just recently. So glad they slept all the way. I've been in your predicament before with leaving the upload cord behind, and did make a trip to best buy! Thanks for the blub.com link!

I've done the drive through the night before and can never decide if I like it or not. I was WASTED the next day, and wondered how that beat just stopping and sleeping during normal hours. It was cheaper, I suppose. But, it's not fun.

Glad you are there safe! Can't wait for your updates:)
