Three's A Charm

Stephanie, Amber, Jenny, Denise, Carol, Jenessy, and Rachel

I ran my 3rd half marathon of the year Saturday. And it was my best race yet. I managed to cut a minute off of my time (which was huge for me) and the best part was I walked away injury free and felt GREAT! Me and a few other runner girlfriends carpooled over to the start at 5:45am. (we missed you Tiffany, Minnie and Tishia!) Denise was kind enought to load us all in her car and drive down to Mesa. Don't we look chipper for such an early morning event?

Doug met up with me at the finish line and got some "action" running shots. Just looking at them made me realize how goofy I look when I run. Relax the fists Jenny (apparently I am ready to beat someone up?) Or maybe I was listening to Michael Jackson's Beat It at the time. Ha!

Here I am racing in at the finish. The clock was a minute off of my chip time (which is the time they use) My official time was 1:50:14 A personal best! I someday hope to at least get a 1:45 or less.

Jenny, Denise, Amber, Rachel and Jenessy

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to see a few run in for the finish since we had to hurry off to make it to Luke's soccer game. Jenessy ended up getting a 1:40 (impressive!), followed by Amber 1:47. So even though I felt fast these two ladies were REALLY fast.

Once again I owe much of my thanks to my faithful running partner Amber. I seriously would not have gotten up MANY mornings at 4:30am without her help! (not to mention increase my pace...) I am not sure which race will be next, but tomorrow it's back to the grind for another early 6 mile run. Gotta keep in shape for the turkey trot in two weeks. Stay tuned......

I know I have said this before but I am so impressed!! I cant get over how all of you ladies can do it! Its probably because when I was "training" for my 10k I got shinsplints and tendinitis! What is up with my old body?

You are an inspiration!! I still remember the Jenny that didn't workout when she first moved to San Antonio...you would always tell me to workout some for you. Then we started our morning walks that then became morning walks and afternoon jogs. I was amazed at how you came to love exercising then you moved to AZ and found some awesome running friends. You seriously have a fire burning in you. Your motivation and determination are amazing. You rock and did I mention I miss my exercise partner!!!
Congratulations again BUT please don't get any faster! I'm trying to catch you!!
P.S. Can you send Miss Amber to Texas to kick my butt into shape!;)

Hey...too bad I didn't see you there! Our really good friends headed up that race, and I did the half too! But there's no way I would have see you...I was in the WAY back trotting in at 2 hours and 25 minutes! That was my first and probably my last half marathon. My poor knees didn't take it so well. I'll stick to the shorter distances and the sprint triathlons! See ya around girl....and congrats on such a great time for your race!

Way to escape the race injury-free! I can't seem to do the same for myself these days. But that was THE funnest race I have run thus far. Way to go. And maybe I will see you at the Turkey Trot.

You give me way too much credit; but I feel the same way about you. It is way more fun because you are there to meet me every morning. Thanks for another great race and congrats on the personal best!
