Summer birthday's are hard period. Between summer and friends being gone it's difficult to plan any sort of party. So, we opted for the next best thing...Luke chose what we did from the minute he got up until bedtime. First up, none other than green pancakes with the request in the shape of a 7.
The activity was bowling.
Dinner Oreganos.
Desert, homemade chocolate cake topped with his favorite peanut butter m&m's. Doug and I both decided there is a reason we buy birthday cakes, we are definitely not bakers! Luke's chocolate tower soon turned into the tower of pisa.
Gifts, Mario Kart (thank you Gordon's!!), clothes, 2 board games, and a remote control helicopter.
It sorta looks like he is blowing the cake over...ha.
Happy 7th Birthday Lukie! You are the handsomist 7 year old we know, we love you!

Happy Birthday to Luke!
Jenny, I saw your comment on Hailey's birthday post....her birthday is actually June 10th...I'm just super behind on blogging!
Happy Birthday Luke!!!
I always forget that Griffin and Luke are so close in age. Griffin makes 7 on July 25 but we are holding off on his pool party until August 14 so that school will have started and friends will be back from summer vacation. Summer birthday celebrations are hard! I am trying to convince Griffin we should go with a store bought cookie cake, which will be easier to serve pool side!
Looks like Luke had a special day!
Happy Birthday Luke! Loved the cake, even if it was leaning I bet it tasted great:)
Happy Birthday Luke!! He sure is a cute kid:)
I just read your previous post about Dougs "journey" through med school/residency. What a long road!! We have 2 years left then 1 year of fellowship then I guess as you pointed out more tests even after he is "done"! Your husband is awesome for what he has accomplished and you are awesome for going through it all with him:)
