Keep Bleeding Love

Wow. What a week it's been. First off I want to give kuddos to my friend Kati who invited several of us over to make these darling signs. The best part was it consists of an old cupboard door, scrapbook paper and wood letters. Isn't it cute and oh so crafty??

I couldn't resist this photo, it was not planned, Luke just wanted to hug Weston.

All of my boys including my husband expressed their love to Taylor and I by showering us with flowers and gifts this holiday. And no, I didn't reciprocate at all (I know bad), but I did appreciate all of the thought that was put into each one. Jared even used his very own money to buy Taylor and I our favorite bath and body works lotion. I scored with an extra gift (40 bananna laffy taffys) to be exact.

And for my biggest surprise (ala Doug) of course he got me my very own Garmin watch! You can guarantee this will be making the blog now and again between runs. Which means, we no longer have to share it (this probably makes him happy). I even tested it out today on our 12 mile run! Thanks honey, and yes this means you are TWO up on me with surprises, I guess I better step it up a notch for the next holiday. Yikes! Happy Valentines Day!!!

Cupids Day

Red roses for his love

We had intentions on going out to one of our favorite steak houses, but 2 weeks prior they were booked until 10pm that evening. Who wants to eat a dinner that late anywhere? Not us. We had our first stay home Valentines Day this year and it was probably one of the best. I have come to the realization Valentines Day truly is over rated. Sure, the flowers are nice (which I did receive)

Green roses for his girl
(her favorite color)

Our friends/neighbors suggested that we come over and split up the menu. We had steak, twice baked potatoes, grilled asparagus, homemade macaroni and cheese, garlic bread, mock tails--bora boras (yum) and if that wasn't enough Doug took it upon himself to make homemade ice cream. The kids were at their own table and we were at ours. We ended the night with a game of pictionary--let's just say artistic abilities (especially drawing celebrities) are NOT my strong point. It was relaxing, low key and just plain fabulous. Thanks Hunter's for a great evening! I am thinking this could be a new tradition.

Grandpa Stan

Valentines Day is also another special day for our family each year. Both my parents are born on holidays. My dad happens to share his day with Cupid himself. I hope you had a great birthday (which I am certain he did) We are just glad to be able to have shared a slice of the pie with you this year. Happy Birthday Dad! We love you!

Me Love

My lovely new feet and flowers.

I almost feel foolish for talking about Valentines Day not really being a holiday around our house. It was done a day early, but better early than late eh? Much to my surprise Doug walked in the door with an arm full of roses and some of my favorite candies to go along with it. This was also after he took me to a delicious lunch at Chuy's. AND to top it off, Doug said in honor of Valentines Day to go and get a pedicure. My feet were in desperate need of some love (I haven't gone since the 1st of December) and yes the red was still on, chipped, but there. Thanks honey!

I was also feeling the love via bloggers. I received three very thoughtful cards in the mail this week. Many thanks to Carlo, Barb, and Donna :)

This photo was supposed to represent a heart (since I wore red today) Obviously it didn't turn out like I wanted (okay a tad cheesy--bare with me people!)....my husband asked why I took a photo of my chest. Ha--what chest? Anyways, I would like to end my Valentines Day with a letter to my most dearest Valentine Doug.

Sweet Doug,

Words can never express my feelings. I know I don't do a very good job at showing you, but I do really want you to know how deeply I appreciate ALL that you do for our family. Between work and family you seem to juggle it all so well. And do so without complaining. After working extremely long hours you still come home and ask how you can help or what needs to be done. So I want to say thank you for being the great man you are, thank you for working each and every Saturday (which you have off) to moonlight, thank you for being a great example and father to me and our children, thank you for grounding me in times I have lost all patience, thank you for loving me unconditionally and for always looking out for me and our family. I love you Dugg! xoxo me :)

And now we are off to cuddle and watch Lost, definitely a great way to spend Valentine evening! Happy Valentines Day!!

Happy Birthday Dad!!

blessing: having a husband who supports and takes care of my needs.
