Doug reads our family blog almost everyday. Sadly, when he is not around we use it as a communication device as well as talking on the phone. I think everyone else finds out about my day most of the time before him. So yesterday he pulled it up on his laptop because he hadn't all weekend. I had to laugh at his comment he said "oh, so you had your 200th post..... and now your slacking." What was funny is he makes comments about me loving my computer more than him and now he is making fun that I didn't post! I decided to go on blogging "hiatus" for the weekend and spend my time doing other things. Because it seems once I commit to sitting down hours seem to fly by without me noticing.
It was a very non exciting weekend really. Friday Jared had a soccer game in which I forgot my camera. Saturday Doug went up to the hospital to study until noon, I decided to mow the lawn since he was gone and got attacked by mosquitos! I took advantage of Doug getting home and went to lunch with Angie and to Michaels Craft Store. I think that place is SOO dangerous. But, it was so nice to browse without screaming kids and of course we didn't walk away empty handed. I got a TON of great ribbon, some paint, wood and a few other pleasurable items. I was thrilled to find some stuff for my Pink Christmas project and now I am almost done!!
Saturday evening Doug had to cover a high school football game (they needed a team doctor). I was kinda bummed because that meant I didn't get to go to the R.S. broadcast. I used the time I had to myself to get online and get some stationary from Doodlebugs. If you haven't checked out her stuff. You must....very fun and cute! Sunday I had correlation meeting at church at 7:30am! Yikes!! But was glad I went to represent Doug and I since we are the Activities Chairmen in our ward. I got the details ironed out for our Annual Halloween Party.
As for today, Luke had school so I got some errands done and putzed (is that a word) around the house. I ventured out to the mall and found myself in Macy's department store. They had some great things on sale and I couldn't pass up a pair of long denim shorts for $9. I wished I would have found these at the beginning of the summer! Now, I am off again to scrapbook.....since my junk has been on the counter for over 2 weeks!!

So nice to talk Sat. night. Hope things go well at school. I also ordered some things from Doodlebugs. Can't wait to see what she has to offer for Christmas. I think they would make great stocking stuffers.
Hey Jenny, I'm so excited about this Pink Christmas, it is such a great idea. I am having so much fun working on mine. I keep looking at the Doodlebug stuff, and one of these days I may just break down and order something.
We are on the same wave length! It is nice to have a change of pace from the same old thing (like our husbands being gone).
Nice you had a good weekend with Doug and especially the break on Saturday. Boy, what a trip to Chuy's with no interuptions and the mistake we made going into Michaels. Glad your back blogging.
THANK YOU so much for your advice. I need all the help I can get, I have already put in names for a committee but, we shall see if it happens. If you have anymore send them my way. Really thank you though. You can write a long comment anytime. I scannned through some of your blogs, you have a very cute family. I served the end of my mission in Houston Texas South. (spanish) so I was never around english speaking people, but I think you live in those mission boudries. IT is so beautiful. We spent a lot of time by Sugarland (that is where the Mission Pres is) I love it. I think you live somewhere nearby. thanks again
Oh Wow!! I was just crusin' around reading and I can not believe I made your blog!! How exciting! Thanks for sharing me!! I hope you had a wonderful relaxing weekend!! Nice to be away from the pc.. :o) Kacey
It sounds like a nice slow weekend, which, except for the 7:30 AM meeting, is just what's needed every once in a while!
I am impressed that you're so caught op on your scrapbooking! Jeremy and I went out to dinner with a friend and his new girldfriend on Friday night and the girl we were with (we'd just met her that night) and I decided that we were much better at scrapbook supply collecting than we are at actually getting any scrapbooking done! It's terrible. Even though I haven't finished a layout in close to a year, I still take all my pictures with a layout in mind. Is that normal?
It sounds like you're getting a lot of stuff done.
I haven't actually scrapbooked in months -- but my pictures are somewhat put into piles. Maybe someday that pile wll start dwindling.
Amy and Jana--
Don't let me fool you. My scrapbook pages are SUPER simple and don't even contain cute embellishments. I literally plant them in and type journal stuff on the computer. I have also decided doing everyone a book in the family just isn't gonna happen. So I have one family book. They will just have to photo copy if they want their own someday.
Nothing wrong with a slow weekend and even better...lunch and shopping with your best friend. I love that Michaels store.
