Since school started merely 6 or more weeks ago I have found it hard to find my little boy, especially around the house. I have often found him in the smallest of spaces curled up playing a Nintendo D.S. Which, he knows is off limits. I am not sure if I enjoy this little hide and go seek game he often likes to play. I have yelled, and called his name until I am literally crazy. "WESSSTOONNNN!!" The response.....nothing but silence. Last I checked NONE of my children have hearing disabilities (although I wonder). As a mother you know how frustrating this can get. Well, the other day I was once again looking for him. Because who knows he could have wandered outside, down the street (and has done this before). Again, I got the silent treatment. Until I finally spotted him. The response this time in the utmost whiny voice, "whhhaaaaat mom?" I explained how important it is to answer when spoken to. It's a sign of respect, etc. I am sure I sounded like Charlie Brown's teacher to his little ears. Waa--waa--waa. Then it dawned on me, who am I kidding? I have no chance. Especially when this was on our television set. (more often than I care to admit)

In stereo singing, "Go Diego Go!"

i was looking over some of your posts and i love the curtains for one. good job on those. curtains make such a difference and i don't think you realize how big the difference is until you hang them. we are just putting up curtains in the dining room again and now i'm realizing how naked my other windows look! i also like your shorts in the pic at the asu game. and it's good to hear you are getting taylor out excercising. i want to know how that is going!
oh that is frustrating when kids don't answer.. he is sure cute though!
loved your curtains! you made it sound so simple! you guys making a trip to washington? :)
So funny but only because we have one of these at our house too, Dane! I'm getting a little worried though, he was the baby for 4 1/2 years and now with Reed in this house, am I going to have 2 kings of the castle around here? HELP!
Man he's cute. I'm sure that helps his cause, does it not?
I once took Jessica to have her hearing tested because I didn't want to feel guilty later if she really couldn't hear. (of course, she hears just fine!)
I often yell "say 'what'!" after they don't respond to there name - that usually works.
their name.... my fingers and brain aren't on the same wavelength yet...
Sometimes I wish I could have some quiet and not be able to find Jared...but then again, if I couldn't find him that would be really, really bad! I can totally relate to the issue of kids "hearing" or "not hearing"...so true.
i have a two boy that are the same as your Weston...... They have Selective hearing ;)
I think it was funny when we were over and Sam and Weston were hiding play nintendo.
Cute kid...isn't every child the 'head of the household'?!? :)
My 3 year old is the same way and every single time he doesn't answer I panic (in my head) because of the time my daughter who was 2 at the time, really DID escape and I had to call 911.
So, I completely understand and I do not know why these little kiddo's do not answer their Mom's? My usually doesn't answer when he's sneaking into something that he shouldn't - but there are other times too!
i know how frustrating it is when the kids don't answer but this post kind of cracked me up. He is so cute!!
My youngest is getting away with murder too, it's going to be a long life.
So funny (I mean not really funny...only funny because I can totally relate! :)
He is such a cute boy!
Comparing yourself to Charlie Brown's teacher made me laugh.
