Spoiled

You can barely tell from this photo I took looking out my bedroom window, but it has been pouring rain since about 6am this morning. It doesn't look any better tomorrow since the clouds are reported to be "stationary" Quite honestly, I am feeling a bit like the weather. I feel like my body is trying to fight off some sort of flu. I crashed around 8:30pm after taking two cold medicine pills. I wasn't even able to keep my eyes open to see all the SYTYCD. Of course it never fails, I awoke several times throughout the night. I do this everytime I take medicine. Annoying.

Feeling crappy, I couldn't even manage to pull myself together until about 3pm today. I layed in bed ALL morning. It made me realize how spoiled I have become with things in my life. For starters, the sun. It has been raining for 23 straight days on and off. That's a whole lotta rain for Texas!! I didn't realize how much I depend on the weather until things I normally do are hindered by it. (swimteam and my exercise didn't happen today) Let alone really have the motivation to drag kids out in it. Each time I talk with my grandma, she expresses how wonderful it would be to have rain. I guess living in AZ you would welcome any sort of drop in temperature. I am sure I will be eating my words about rain a year from now.

Father's Day Morning 4:30am

Unfortunately, rain has caused a delay in several airports along the Northeast. Normally I wouldn't even care but today a delay means more time for my poor husband to sit at an airport. His flight from Maine has been delayed several hours along with his connecting flight back home. I think we get spoiled with the transportation means we have living in our country. What? A delay....come on! At any rate I am still hopeful that he will make it home before midnight. I have been anticipating this day for the past 2 weeks. And the other bummer is while he was there at his study course his computer crashed on him due to some virus in the internet world @$@$! Doug has decided that was the last PC he will ever own.

I have also realize how spoiled I am into having such a supportive, helpful husband. Doug may be gone on call, off and on, but he rarely goes out of town. These past 13 days haven't been terrible, but not having him around for bedtime rituals, dinner, and just as a companion has been tough. I don't know how several of you do 6 weeks or even months at a time flying solo. I can only imagine how hard it is! I hate to appear like a wet blanket, (truely how I feel) but now I know exactly why I should be grateful for so many things. What I would do to feel healthy today! I think I have realized how spoiled I really am.

good deed: read scriptures with the kids.

So sorry for your "sicky" feeling today. I sure hope you will snap out of it and feel tons better tomorrow.

Yeah for hubby coming home tonight. 13 days is a long time. I totally realize how much I appreciate my husband when I am alone to put kids to bed, deal with dinner hour, etc. It can be exhausting. I look forward to the alone time at night once the kids are in bed to sit and talk, watch shows, or do nothing with my husband. I'm sure we feel the same way.

Take care and I hope you get to feeling better real soon!!

Rain sounds so good to me right now and your grass looks so green. Ours is struggling for life because we've had 95 degree weather for weeks with NO RAIN at all. It sucks.

I'm sorry you're fighting off the flu, have been Doug-less for 2 weeks and are trapped inside because of the weather, I'm sure I'd be hating life too if in your same shoes. Good luck!

I'm sorry you are having a hard time. I found myself thinking, rain would be nice and Doug's already coming home... at your expense! Why does bad weather seem good and husband's trips go by so quickly when they are not happening at your house?!

I hope you get feeling better soon!

Sorry you aren't feeling well. I hope Doug makes it home soon! I didn't even realize he had been gone. That is a long time!

I can so empathize with you. I am sorry for all the rain. My sister in Houston is sounding depressed too, she's so tired of the rain that's just doesn't want to leave. Craig is often stuck or flights delayed when he travels - it's a pain for us, but worse on him because he just wants to get home. Are there any indoor playrooms in your area - we've spent a lot of time at those up here. Take care and hope he's safe and your sane tomorrow!

I hate when the medicine doesn't work all night! I want that sleep when I don't feel good! I hope you start feeling better soon. So glad Doug should be home tonight, YEAH!

That is a whole lot of rain and while I'm not usually against it, that many days in a row would wear on me too!

Hope Doug gets home fast and you are able to sleep away your woes.

This rain is something else, my kids need some exercise in a bad way!

I'm with Doug on the crazy computer frustration, as I type away on my boy's dinosaur of a computer that makes me so crazy to use I have to be some kind of bored to blog with it. Mine is in the shop and I can't stand the wait!

I know that feeling of thinking if only I felt well! HOpe you feel better tomorrow.

June gloom in Texas! Bummer. We haven't had it here this year. I know it's always such a summer dampener.

Feeling sick with a husband gone totally sucks. 2 weeks is such a long time to me- I was just feeling bummed out that Linc will be gone this whole weekend- I should be grateful that he never has to travel and be gone for long amounts of time.

Hope he got home at a decent hour and that you are feeling a little better this week now that he is home.

Hope you are feeling better. I didn't realize that Doug was gone. That is a long time to be without extra support.

I haven't had a chance to watch So You Think You Can Dance either.
